I grew up in Alexandria and went to school at St. James Episcopal, Huddle Elementary, Alexandria Country Day and Menard. After graduating from high school, I went to Tulane University where I received a B.A. in Political Science. During my junior year, I was able to attend the London School of Economics in London, England. After college, I went to LSU and Tulane Law Schools, graduating in 1985. I began practicing law in New Orleans and moved back to Alexandria in 1990. I’ve been here ever since! In the past 30 years of practicing law, I have seen it all.

My great grandfather, Nathan Wahlder, began a small dry goods store in downtown Alexandria in the early 1900’s.
My grandfather, Isaac Wahlder, began practicing law in Alexandria in the early 1900s. He practiced in the Commercial Building downtown.
My father, Mike Wahlder, followed my grandfather into practice in the 1950s. He later became a U.S. Magistrate and eventually an Administrative Law Judge.
